ClinOps is a high-quality, interactive, and internationally accredited 10-week online course designed to equip clinical trial professionals across Africa with the practical knowledge and skills needed to lead and manage clinical research. Hosted by the Center for Innovative Drug Development and Therapeutic Trials for Africa (CDT-Africa) at Addis Ababa University, ClinOps responds to the urgent need for increased clinical trial capacity on the continent—where over 25% of the global disease burden exists, but only 3% of trials are conducted.

The course is tailored specifically for full-time working professionals, offering flexibility through an engaging online platform and structured weekly lessons. Each module is carefully crafted to deliver practical, real-world insights across the entire clinical trial lifecycle—from study design and data management to audits, quality systems, and pharmacovigilance.

The curriculum is shaped and delivered by seasoned African clinical trial experts who bring deep contextual understanding and decades of experience from across the continent. Since its launch, ClinOps has trained over 430 professionals across 24 countries, strengthening Africa’s ability to generate evidence for context-appropriate diagnostics, treatments, and health tools.
